Tender Ref. FY23/0236
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) was one of the first international non-government organizations working in Vietnam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environmental issues and implemented field activities across the country. In 2021, WWF-Vietnam received a funding from WWF-Norway to conduct the “PSC-TVA-Hue project” with the objective of reducing plastic leakage by 30% in 2024 in Hue City. In addition, Hue is known as the city of heritage, a must-visit place for anyone interested in national origin. Statistics show that in the first quarter of 2022, Thua Thien Hue welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors, including more than 4,600 international visitors. It is obvious that the higher portion of visitors to be reached of behavior change in the use of SUPs the higher amount of SUPs generation and leaking to environment could be reduced. In the frame of it’s efforts to promote Hue - a heritage destination saying no to plastics and taking measures to SUPs reduction, the project is looking for an individual consultant to develop codes of conduct on SUP bans in target heritage sites and tourist areas, and the implementation roadmap to promote a plastic-free Hue city of heritage.
