The Viet Nam Corporate Energy Leaders (VCEL) initiative helps companies overcome key barriers and access cost-effective renewable energy options. VCEL is led by WWF Viet Nam (www.vietnam.panda.org) and the Viet Nam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD)—Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI, www.en.vbcsd.vn), with support from our key partner, Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA, www.cleanenergyinvest.org/vietnam).
VCEL works with the following organizations to support corporate sourcing of renewable energy in Viet Nam:
-
WWF’s global Climate Business Hub and corporate renewable energy programs, which support companies as they accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon future.
-
VBCSD-VCCI’s role as Viet Nam’s leading business association working to help companies understand the business cases and take action on renewables.
-
Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA), which works to overcome barriers and drive the deployment of renewable solutions for large electricity consumers.
VCEL mobilizes leading businesses in Viet Nam interested in using renewable energy to drive greener production and create new opportunities for sustainable growth. VCEL works with companies and their supply chains to build their demand for, and access to, renewable energy.
Companies have a unique opportunity to lead the transition to renewable energy and more ambitious climate action. Viet Nam has immense potential for renewable energy development. Recognizing this fact, top global brands, as well as local Vietnamese companies and suppliers, are increasingly demanding access to renewable energy options to reduce electricity costs and meet their sustainability targets.
However, accessing renewable energy is harder than it should be in Viet Nam. There is a growing opportunity to foster a corporate community working together to overcome their barriers and to build a renewable energy future that will drive sustainable economic growth in a globally competitive Viet Nam.
Has your company made renewable energy deployments or commitments? We encourage all of the following companies to join us to build a renewable energy future:
-
International brands/multinational companies with supply chains in Viet Nam
-
Domestic companies and business associations
-
Banks/financial institutions with renewable investments
VCEL operates on a free of charge basis for members.
